My Not So Secret Diary

Little Treats Product Reviews

How does treating yourself help?

For me it makes me feel a little bit special to have 'nice' things. I'm not condoning using shopping to replace an addiction or anything like that, I just know that for me, self-care was not a priority for me for a long time, and it's nice occasionally to treat yourself.

So here are some of the things I like at the moment.

Apple Airpods

These Apple AirPods were a birthday present from my lovely husband. It was a lockdown birthday, so I was lucky to get a present at all, let alone such a great one!

I was worried I'd lose one, but they turn off if you take one out which is great for me at work as it pauses what I am listening to until I put one back in.

I love the fact that the case also charges them up, and I have recently been shown that if you do lose them, you can locate them using your iPhone!

The sound is great, and it's nice to have something without a lead to get tangled up in. Even my old bluetooth ones had a wire connecting them, so using these gives a lot of freedom.

Tisserand Total De-Stress Pulse Point Roller Ball

I love these roller ball oils by Tisserand. I have a lot of them now, but this de-stress one is my favourite. I have one in my bag at all times, and it's lovely for a little grounding when you feel stressed. They last ages too, so they are a great investment.

I'm not sure if it is just the action doing something that helps to calm me down, by rolling it on to my wrists, but they definitely work for me, and they smell great.

Warning - don't leave one in your pocket when you try to get on a plane, it causes all sorts of questions!

You can buy them easily online too.

Reusable Face Wipes

I love these reusable makeup wipes. They are soft, and come with a little cotton bag to wash them in. Not only are they good for my skin, but good for the environment too. These came from The Byre, in Launceston and they are lasting really well, although mine do have a few marks on from my eyeliner!

Clinique ID

I've always been a fan of Clinique products. I've been using them for a couple of years now, since my husband treated me to some bits for Christmas a while back, but they are lovely.

This new ID moisturiser is fantastic, not only is it in two parts so you choose the combination that suits you but it makes my skin feel great too.

I use the BB base and the fatigue concentrate for a little boost. It gives me a great base, with a bit of colour without the need for foundation. It's brilliant as I don't wear a lot of makeup and I don't want to spend a lot of time doing it in the morning either!
